Jeet Kune Do, officially named in the late 60's, literally translates as 'intercepting fist', and is a very well rounded and balanced Martial Art. It provides the individual with strength of body and mind, knowledge and awareness. It is this development of physical, mental and spiritual that is truley a priceless advantage in these modern times.
Jeet Kune Do was founded by Bruce Lee, as he felt the Martial Arts were too confined, and it now stands to be an inspiration to those who hold an interest in Martial Arts and Bruce Lee.
Many People over the years have tried to come up with a definition of Jeet Kune Do. Some call it a process of change, others say it is a modified Wing Chun, but most recognise it to be a mixture of many different martial arts that can be interpreted differently by every student who wishes to learn it.
Jeet Kune Do accepts you for you and is not about forcing restrictions or ways of doing things.
We interpret Jeet Kune Do to be the base that was established by Bruce Lee, and is there to be built on by all practitioners of the art and all students, as we are expected to modify, add or delete any aspects to create something that is uniquely our own.
You the individual, become through this process of self discovery, your own best teacher.
